Attend our February 13th Meeting. Judge Eileen Nadelson  - An Inside Look At the Court System

Judge Eileen Nadelson was elected to the New York City Civil Court and served in the New York County and Kings County courts. She also sat in the Criminal Court, Kings County. Upon her retirement from the bench, she was certified to serve as Judicial Hearing Officer in the Supreme, Civil and Criminal Courts of New York City.

At our January 23, 2018 meeting we discussed upcoming undertakings. In addition we  awarded the prestigious  Paul Harris (Founder) award  to an esteemed member of our community.

We look back at some of our major accomplishments in 2017. Among them:

  • For the nearby Westchester Exceptional Children’s School we supplied funding for school equipment and a music program.

  • In Haiti, the poorest nation in the Western Hemisphere, we provided support and financial guidance for a 140 student school. Many students come from poor backgrounds and it is only through education that we can help improve the entire economy. One Rotary member sits on the school board and regularly travels to Haiti to review program success.

  • Our award-winning Rotary Literacy project has been reported upon in the New York Times. We bring suburban and inner-city high schools together to work on a joint publication project.  In May all the students travel to Somers to meet each other.  In 2017, for our thirteenth edition,  there were 17 schools that participated.
